
Opened in 1992 Great Waters is a Jack Nicklaus design with several holes along the shores of Lake Oconee with fabulous views!
Located across the lake from Reynolds Plantation, the course offers a full service restaurant and pro shop on site.
The course was closed in July 2018 for extensive renovations including new greens and bunkers, irrigation and drainage and the addition of forward tees. Reopened personally by Jack in October 2019 par is still 72 but now lengthened to 7436 yards from the tips. Slope and rating are 138/75.7 with TifEagle Bermuda greens.
The Creek Indians originally settled in this area. The Creek word “Oconee” translates to “Great Waters”. Several tournaments have been hosted at Great Waters with the last being the Golf Channel’s “Big Break Reynolds” in 2014. The course brought much acclaim from not only from the competitors but the announcers as well who had never visited the area. Considered a premier course and a top 100 you can play.
Members of Reynolds Lake Oconee have access to six golf courses based upon which membership level they choose. Amenities in three separate gated golf communities include several restaurants, tennis facilities, and four marinas with dry storage.
The Lake Club is a state of the art facility which includes a lakefront indoor exercise area, indoor pool, and three outdoor pools on site and is accessible by car or boat. Planned activities are offered throughout the year from nature walks, wine tastings, and concerts plus a multitude of other offerings for members.
Property owners are from all fifty states and international countries. Reynolds members are an eclectic group of various professional backgrounds. In summary, the golf courses and the amenities are world class in every respect.
